Ko Phangnan

Just a quick note to let you know that we OK and back in Thailand after an exhausting trip from Bali. Flight to Kuala Lumpur, over night train on not too soft reclining seat, 6 hour bus ride and overnight 7 hour ferry ride to the island, slept on the floor. Here we are in Ko Phangnan home of the famous full moon party. What are the chances we would show up the day of the full moon? And what are you going to do except join the party. 10,000 fairly smashed kids on Hat Rin beach with the worlds loudest stereos and the worlds worst music competing. Things were just picking up when we left at 1:30 am.
Went to the grand opening of a beach bar next to our bungalow . They roasted a large pig, lots of rice and veggies, live THAI traditional band. All you could eat FREE!!! Big Changs for 60 baht ($2)
Staying in a dump of a place the first two nights as all the rooms are booked solid with party goers, but we got a gem of bungalow on the beach that we move into tomorrow; it has fridge and tv and espn will carry the game live at 9 am Monday morning. Weather was actually cool and rainy today, a nice change. I'll try to upload some pics tomorrow.
